Dr. Hembd is a specialist in the field of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R). After graduating with honors from the Medical College of Wisconsin he completed his residency training in PM&R from U.C. Davis Medical Center in 2002. He is board certified to the highest standard with the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

As a result of his training he is experienced at the diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal (non-operative spine and sports) injuries, arthritis, and peripheral nerve entrapment or injury. He is also skilled in the use of nerve conduction studies and electomyography (EMG) as well as epidural steroid injections.

He is affiliated with the California Medical Association and the American Academy of PM&R, and North American Spine Society.

His goal is to provide timely care for patients in a professional and personal environment. The affiliation he shares with the other physicians allows prompt surgical and / or pain management referral if necessary.
